  • INVENTING TRAJECTORIES, A CREATIVE PRACTICE WORKSHOP WITH AIMAR PÉREZ GALÍ

According to Nicolas Bourriaud a semionaut is someone who builds up his own route with whatever he finds, inventing courses between already existing signs.

I want to propose a semionautic practice, where we can sail across the existing cultural labyrinth by means of the appropriation of already created materials, ready-mades, in order to give a new use to the fragments we encounter while sailing. Such elements will create small cartographies, leading to different formats or spaces.

It’s going to be something like a sailing adventure across the seas of culture. Sometimes we’ll follow our course and others we’ll go adrift, encountering pirates, discovering treasure islands and natives. We’ll even be shipwrecked and then maybe we’ll have to dive to see hidden wonders, watching out for mermaids, of course.

Aimar Pérez Galí is very interested in games as a tool for teaching, research and performing. Games are the means to transfer information and knowledge and he uses them in the development of his practice. Some of the works developed from this approach are Navigating Possibilities, The Pandora Project and Declarando Amor (as performances); Pedagogic Research Project, Pandora Workshop, Desarrollando Prácticas and Dialogues – Postdialogues (as teaching and research). He is currently working together with other artists nationally and internationally, and is co-director of Espacio Práctico (Barcelona).

    Dates: 10th, 11th and 12th June 2011
