La Poderosa, a former industrial site in the Raval neighbourhood now dedicated to dance and its “contaminants”, hosts a meeting between two highly personal voices: those of Chantal Maillard and Perejaume, one more airy and lilting, the other less-balanced raging, both rich and questioning. The evening will begin with a video by Perejaume, who will then read poems from Pagèsiques (2011), whilst Chantal Maillard will recite excerpts from Bélgica (2011), the journey of a consciousness that is observed simultaneously in past and present, as well as other poems. From one extreme to another, both artists engage in demanding yet loving combat language. Perejaume creates poetry through an artistic, craftsmanlike exploration of the word, whilst Chantal Maillard, a Belgian author who lives between Malaga and Barcelona, writes diaries, poetry and novels. An evening of personal cartographies and creative nomadisms.
