Tres personas, todos los cuerpos (Three People, Every Body)
Concept and idea: Bea Fernández

Synopsis

We are many bodies, as many as all those we have danced.
We are the bits and bodies of others, we are the remains of those bodies that have stuck to us and their future versions, their memory transformed.

Three People, are Monse Penela, Mauricio González and I, Bea Fernández, plus all the bodies from the past that we’ve revised in order to adapt them and present them from different perspectives. We work with bodies charged with the language and habits we’ve experienced, like layers of clothing that have gradually shaped our presence.

The piece is made up of the sum of three solo interventions based on the theme of a dancer’s body’s memory as a living archive of data and memories they have passed through along their professional career, and the way in which each of us relates to those materials in the present. The action consists of making a mosaic from the remains of bodies from the past. A space in real time, where spaces of memory, bodies lived in past pieces, or remains of works that were never shown are inserted.

I am interested in the role of the performer, as stage material, as an experience, as the subject of a process. That is why this piece has one direction and three voices; each intervention with its own set of rules, established from the inside, from the perspective of the performer who actions and composes in real time during the work sessions.
Another way to describe it would be like stepping into the back room of what is not visible, into that part of the performer´s thought that the audience doesn’t usually see.

All this is related to the idea of reinventing oneself as a future projection; the good thing being it implies a renewal.
